Warranty Policy

At EDGE SMART DRIVE, we guarantee that our products are designed and manufactured to the highest quality standards. This Warranty Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which we will repair or replace defective products.


1. Scope of Warranty Service

Warranty Period:
EDGE SMART DRIVE grants a limited warranty to the original purchaser starting from the date of delivery (as confirmed by tracking information):

  • Main Body (K4 / K5 Motors): 12 Months
  • Battery & Charger: 6 Months
  • Accessories: Standard warranty does not apply to consumable parts or accessories (e.g., propellers, O-rings, mounting brackets) unless they arrive defective out of the box.

*Note: The warranty period starts from the date the tracking information confirms delivery. This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.

Proof of Purchase:
A valid sales invoice or order number is required to claim warranty.
*Fallback Clause: If you cannot provide a valid proof of purchase, the warranty period will start from 90 days after the production date indicated on the product's serial number label.

Remedy:
If a defect arises during the warranty period, EDGE SMART DRIVE will, at its discretion:

  1. Repair the product using new or refurbished parts.
  2. Replace the product with a new or refurbished unit that is functionally equivalent to the original.

*Note: The replaced product or part assumes the remaining warranty of the original product.

2. How to Obtain After-Sales Service

If your product is not functioning correctly, please follow these steps:

  1. Check Resources: First, please consult the User Manual, FAQ, or instructional videos on our website.
  2. Contact Us: If the issue persists, email store@edgesmartdrive.com.
  3. Diagnosis: You must cooperate with our technicians to diagnose the problem via email, photos, or video. Many issues can be resolved remotely.
  4. Return for Service: If a hardware inspection is needed, we will provide instructions. Do not ship items back without prior confirmation.

⚠️ Shipping Costs (Round-Trip):

Please note that the customer is responsible for all round-trip shipping costs associated with warranty claims. This includes the cost of shipping the defective product to our service center AND the cost of shipping the repaired or replaced unit back to you.

3. What This Policy Does NOT Cover (Exclusions)

This warranty does strictly NOT cover damage or defects resulting from:

  • Human Error: Collision, drops, or burning accidents caused by man-made factors rather than product quality issues.
  • Unauthorized Modification: Damage caused by dismantling the shell, modifying circuits, or repairing components without official written instructions from EDGE SMART DRIVE.
  • Improper Use: Operation not in accordance with the User Manual (e.g., exceeding depth limits, running motors out of water for extended periods).
  • Battery Misuse: Damage caused by using non-official chargers, improperly matching batteries, or leaving batteries in a low-discharge state for extended periods.
  • Unofficial Accessories: Damage caused by using third-party peripherals or add-on devices not recommended by us.
  • Label Tampering: Products where the serial number label or identification label has been removed, altered, or is unrecognizable.
  • Force Majeure: Damage caused by external factors such as fire, lightning, abnormal voltage, natural disasters, or animal damage.

4. Product and Part Replacement

  • Ownership: When after-sales service involves the replacement of a product or part, the replaced (defective) part becomes EDGE SMART DRIVE’s property, and the replacement part becomes your property.
  • Condition: Replacement parts provided by us may not be brand new but will be in good working order and at least functionally equivalent to the original part.

5. Limitation of Liability

EDGE SMART DRIVE is responsible only for loss or damage to your product while it is in our possession or in transit (if we arranged the shipping).

Under no circumstances will EDGE SMART DRIVE, its affiliates, or suppliers be liable for:

  1. Third-party claims against you for damages.
  2. Incidental or Consequential Damages: Including but not limited to lost profits, business revenue, loss of data, or anticipated savings.
  3. Liability Cap: In no case shall our total liability exceed the actual amount you paid for the product.

6. Use of Personal Information

By requesting warranty service, you authorize EDGE SMART DRIVE to store, use, and process your contact information (name, address, email) for the purpose of performing the service. We may also contact you to inquire about your satisfaction with our service or to notify you of safety issues.
